Ram ProMaster City - First Pick of the Compact Van Draft
After decades of rectangular packages, the style of urban commercial hauling is evolving, like in the Ram ProMaster City. In Europe, this van is well-known as the Doblo, a lucrative Fiat model, that has introduced its 3rd generation. Americanized Doblo includes heavier suspension components and slightly higher ride, due to the poor road conditions in some urban areas. The new ProMaster City gets a grille more in line with the rest of the Ram brand. A brand badge is displayed across the van’s face instead of the Dodge crosshair grille. The ProMaster City is smaller relative to big guys like the Ford Transit and Ram ProMaster, but not to the emerging mid-size class, established in the USA by the Transit Connect in 2010 and “supported” by the Nissan NV200 and its Chevy twin, the City Express. The Dodge ProMaster City is available in cargo and passenger versions. With its focus on economy, space, and features such as front overhead storage bin and many other available accessories, the ProMaster City attracts a wide range of customers.Dodge Ram ProMaster City Trim Levels
The ProMaster City comes as a cargo van, known as the Cargo, and a 5-passenger version called the Wagon. Both the wagon and cargo have Tradesman and SLT trim levels. The major differences between the base and the SLT are in the form of standard equipment, better seats, and a slightly different design. Also, the Wagon seats 5 and the Tradesman cargo van seats just 2 passengers. Standard equipment includes a 5-inch touchscreen, keyless entry, 16-inch steel wheels, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, power front windows, cloth upholstery, air conditioning, a front overhead storage bin, a 4-speaker stereo with a USB port, bluetooth, and a 60/40-split folding rear seat (wagon only). For the SLT trim configurations, all of the mentioned equipment comes standard, along with Ram ProMaster City accessories such as cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power-adjustable heated mirrors, body-colored mirrors and bumpers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, privacy glass, upgraded cloth upholstery, and height and lumbar adjustments for the driver's seat.
Ram ProMaster City: Specs
Our team of skillful technicians and commercial van’s experts made a list of this compact van performance specs. Just, keep the lane with the following lines to get the useful info about this compact van.
Performance
Engineered with MultiAir (a hydraulically powered variable valve timing) system, the amount of the intake of gas/air and the exhaust of the resulting fumes is changed for optimal performance. The 2.4-liter Tigershark engine can deliver a total of 178 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. With only one engine available, all models and trims are matched to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The more speeds available, the less the transmission has to work for complete control of the power required. This will also increase fuel efficiency in higher gears. This van is excellent for driving around town. But once on the highway, especially if fully loaded, the ProMaster City feels a little bit slow. The 9-speed automatic's shifting can be a bit clumsy at low speeds. You May Also Like
